29.03.2006 Whats the Rush?
I’m not sure if I’m just mellowing out with age, but just lately I’m not in such a rush to get places. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the feel of speed but on the average boring drive to work and back again, to the shops I just don’t feel the need to blat around everywhere at 70mph any more.
Saying that, I have a feeling that my need for speed is going to be renewed when the new car arrives. The engine has nearly twice the power of my existing motor (It’s a 2.0 litre turbo diesel) and I’m sure that with the roof down it’s going to feel even faster.
The new car is a Peugeot 307cc and today my baby went on to the production line to start being made. Now I just have to sit and wait for my dealer to get in touch with us to let us know when it’s going to be ready. I’m really excited like a little kiddie again.
The car pictured is the old style 307cc, mine will have the new style front end and I’m planning to tart it up a bit with the sports pack arches and a rear spoiler.
I’m especially looking forward to the summer months, and I’m hoping that we’re going to have a dry summer so I can cruise around with the roof down, the music up and the sun in my hair. My and the missus are planning to go for a long cruise down south and cruise along the coast starting at Weymouth and then heading west along the coast, stopping for a day or so at each place along the way until we get to Newquay.
