11.07.2007 What to do?

There’s a site out there that has stolen my top ten movie cars post, lock stock and barrel and is even hotlinking the images.

It’s not something that I’ve ever been bothered by before, but it’s kind of annoying that he’s posted it without even crediting me, so I was thinking of ways to get my own back. The easiest way to do this would be to change the source images that he’s hotlinking to, so that instead of seeing pictures of cool cars, he get’s something nasty. Only problem is, that I can’t decide what to swap them too.

Here are my ideas so far:

1) Pr0N – Switch the images for really nasty gay porn pictures, If that doesn’t teach him a lesson I don’t know what will.

2) Adverts – Switch the images for pictures saying ‘this post was stolen from bomb.org.uk’.

3) Education – A list of reasons why hotlinking people’s images is wrong – one for each image…

What do you guys think? Is there anything else that I could use that would be better or should I just disable image hotlinking altogether? Would it be too nasty to put pr0n on someone elses site? Without their permission?

Was it nasty for them to steal your content without your permission? Of course.

However, porn is rather unoriginal here. Outing the article as a copy would be more fun. I’d do option 2.

I had some images hotlinked before and I replaced them all with a “Hotlinking is bad, mmkay?” graphic.

More for my amusement than anything. Heh.
