23.04.2008 Happy St Georges Day!

Today is St Georges day here in rainy england (and most of the rest of the world as well). For those of you who don’t know, Saint George is the patron saint of England and shares his celebratory day with England’s ‘national day’.

On the subject of England, I came across the DotEng campaign for an english domain yesterday. Basically it’s a campaign to get England it’s very own country specific top level domain. To be fair, it would be pretty cool if England could have it’s own domain – we are a country after all, and everyone else has them. Why should we have to use boring old .co.uk domains anyway?

So… I signed the petition and added a link to my side bar – you guys should too!

22.04.2008 Yay! iM Happy!

I can’t wait! Tomorrow I get my iPhone! Woooo hooo!

08.04.2008 Google… Seriously, What the Hell?

I had forgotton my password for an old Google account I use at work today and had to use their reset password feature, where I was presented with this CAPTCHA to verify I was human:

Crappy Google Captcha

Seriously… Google. What the hell were you thinking? Who in their right mind is going to know what that says? What really bugged me was I had to refresh the CAPTCHA THREE FRIGGING TIMES before I found one that was legible! Have you never heard of letter spacing? Jesus!

Oh… and don’t bother playing the audio for disabled users either, that just plays a gibberish message of total crap that you can’t make sense of either – I listened to it on the off chance I could make sense of the image and it gave me over 20 letters and numbers as well as a whole bunch of crappy background noise.

Come on Google – we know you can do better than that – get your finger out!

07.04.2008 I’m Getting Naked!

It’s nearly CSS naked day, so don’t be surprised if you see a severe lack of style around here soon… (but lots of content!). [pic by omnia_mutantur]

02.04.2008 What Happened to Computer Games?

What the hell happened to computer games? I remember when computer games had a stick and one button – nothing else mattered nowadays games have buttons, multiple analog sticks, d-pads and button combinations. When did everything get so complicated?

Today I considered jumping back on Skate for a blast after a few months away, but then remembered how complicated the controls were and how long it took me to work it out in the first place. So rather than spend hours just sucking while I got my head around it all again, I just dropped it and decided to play burnout instead which is considerably less hassle to pick up and play.

I wish games could be simple again, graphically stunning but easy to play. Those were the days!

Crap… I’ve just realised, I’m showing my age – big time!
